'Care to talk' - Communication in our profession

Overcome communication challenges and develop new skills to connect with various groups within your community.

This is an online event and is open to all Medical Radiation Professionals and students, Australia-wide. Presentations include:
  • Natasha Ravlich, AUSLAN speaker from Expression Australia
  • Fiona Pinikahana & Pauline Trinh –  Hearing Impaired Radiographers in the Workforce
  • Carlie Alicastro & Lydia Johnsey – Child Life Therapy
  • Rachel Challen – Dementia
  • Greg Trypis – Tutor Radiographer – Communicating with students

Attendees will:
  • Understand the complexities around terminology and experiences of the deaf community
  • Hear from colleagues who have experienced their own communication challenges in their profession
  • Develop skills to respond to the challenges of communicating with children
  • Develop skills to respond to the challenges of communicating with patients with dementia
  • Improve an understanding of the challenges faced by students and learn how to effectively communicate with students whilst on clinical placement
